About the St. Andrew's Historical Journal
The St Andrews Historical Journal is an entirely student-run academic journal that gives undergraduate and postgraduate students the opportunity to publish their original scholarly work, peer-reviewed and edited by Journal Editors-in-Chief of the St. Andrews History Society. After being resurrected in 2017, the journal is relaunching this year with new staff and operating procedures, placing a heavier focus on our online presence, distribution of our physical journal at the end of the Candlemas Semester, and a professional structure featuring diverse and varied content.
With topics ranging from Ancient to Modern times and related subjects such as art history, archeology, and classics, the Journal encourages its writers to cover a wide spectrum of historical topics while focusing on their particular scholarly interests. The journal welcomes book and film reviews, interviews with historians, and historical poetry, alongside historical artwork for adornment of the physical journal.
Submissions are now open for the 2024-2025 issue.
We accept submissions from any enrolled University of St. Andrew’s student and are welcome to coursework.
